The Official FCI Breed
Standard describes the following
For our families pleasure,
faithful to a milenary tradition and with great pride, we've been devoted for a
lifetime to preserve and promote this ancient Mexican breed. Over so many
years we've learned that the best way to do it is improving the quality of our
dogs, generation after generation, and litter after litter.
Xolos should be kept a pure
breed, without strange innovations. We work for this purpose breeding only
top-quality hairless Standard, Intermediate and Miniature sized Xolos.
We strongly oppose the
breeding, selling, showing and/or registering of haired descendants of Xolos,
which reflect impurity of the breed and are practices that conflict severely
with FCI Standard # 234/09.08.1999 that rules the characteristics of our breed worldwide. We
encourage very much every prospective Xolo owner to read throughly the breed
standard and contact several references before choosing a
breeder.
We also strongly oppose the
money-hungry puppy mills and back yard "breeders" that pretend to make a living
out of this special and beautiful breed, ignoring the fact that breeding purebred dogs is an art, so it's not
intended for merchants.
